Fans Need To “Double-Check” Their Tweets

Interesting tweet today:

Piquing my curiosity, I attempted to find the tweets Greg Jennings’ sister tweeted. Unfortunately, the tweets have been deleted and her account now protected. On the bright side, has the tweets in their blog. Two examples from their blog:

“My God Aaron Rodgers holds the ball forever! GJ was wide open 5x for that touchdown!

Goodness he acts like hedoesn’t want to throw to him”

“Who can make a play @GregJennings can! He’s the best freakin receiver these clowns got!

Now take your talents to south beach & get paid!”

This person did a screen grab of some of the actual tweets:

If we haven’t learned by now, family shouldn’t be on Twitter when their loved one is playing or is “in the news“. Unfortunately for her, she was. Despite the deletions the tweets live on. But that’s not what intrigued me about this story. ESPN Milwaukee’s Jason Wilde mentioned the tweets being sent “to” Greg Jennings. What were people tweeting? Leading off is a doozy:

Just a few of the tweets fans tweeted at or about Jennings. Will fans ever learn? The more idiotic we are, the more likely athletes will pull away. Do you want that fans? Don’t buy a vowel, buy a clue.

How did Jennings respond?

Thankfully, he realized it’s best to get off Twitter for a while in the midst of controversy:
