Thank goodness it’s Friday.

I feel like I say that every week. On second thought, I think I do. It’s not just because it’s the end of the work week. No, that couldn’t be it…..I work weekends too. It could only mean one thing:

Friday Fun Tweets: a collection of tweets from the sports Twitterverse; funny, crazy, wild, jaw-dropping or just plain old LOL tweets.

In case you didn’t hear, the NBA & the NBAPA “settled” their labor dispute. “Settled” is in word only as there are still minor issues to be settled. Derek Fisher is the Players’ Union president. He’s also a 37-year-old point guard. 37 is ancient in terms of point guards. Thus, the reason for this tweet:

Cubs fans are a funny lot. And they send funny tweets too:

I watched the Seahawks-Eagles game last night for Thursday Night Football. Marshawn Lynch went mini-BEASTMODE last night. In case you haven’t heard that term before even after viewing that link, here’s the best one from last year against the New Orleans Saints.

In light of his mini-BEASTMODE effort, I present this tweet:

Washington State University made huge news this week. They fired Coach Paul Wulff on Tuesday. On Wednesday, they hired Mike Leach. The buzz around the country was off the charts. That news caused some to dream BIG dreams… Seattle King5’s Chris Egan, who was dreaming of a Mariners-Prince Fielder ‘marriage’. MLB’s Greg Johns set him straight pretty quick:

In additional college coaching news, Ohio State “officially” hired former Florida coach Urban Meyer. It wasn’t any kind of secret around the sports Twitterverse; rumored for weeks. But Ohio State waited until after the rivalry game with University of Michigan this past weekend to announce it. An astute observation by CBS’ Dennis Dodd:

Normally, I don’t follow golf much. However, there is one guy on Twitter that I do enjoy checking his tweets. He’s a funny guy:

This space is usually reserved for a Tweet of the Week. I didn’t find one that truly stood out to me. We’ll end on this note, however.

There have been some pretty bad performances by quarterbacks in the NFL this year. This tweet was NOT tweeted after Vince Young’s 4 interception performance last night. It might as well have been but it was after this past weekend’s games. It made me chuckle but it not enough to qualify as Tweet of the Week.
