Spanning the Twitterverse: Deitsch, Oher and Abidal

Spanning the Twitterverse to bring you the constant variety of tweets….the thrill of the retweet….and the agony of the unfollow.…the human drama of the twitter timeline….This is CadChica’s Wide World of Tworts

It all started so innocently enough:

A well-known Sports Illustrated writer/reporter, giving his list for top “club” teams in the world; all sports. His criteria:

Now, I’m sure he received lots of interesting replies but my favorite response of his:

However, this tweet from his own magazine tops them all:

Michael Oher’s life is a testimony to being an overcomer. Either seeing the movie or reading the book, “The Blind Side”, one can begin to understand that he has triumphed over adversity. It was never easy; hard work enabled his success, plus love of family. Of course, I ‘follow’ someone like that on Twitter. Came across one of his tweets today that I wasn’t sure where he was going with it until I read the ones after:!/MichaelOher/status/65520191701917696

Whew! Normally the Twitter challenges I see are about getting the most followers. But this? This is a different kind of challenge and one I applaud. He is speaking from a place of knowledge, one that I don’t have. He has never come across with any “character” issues that I can tell in his tweets. So when he tweeted these, he got my attention. Unknown if Mr. McShay is paying attention but, others are:

Paging Mr. McShay? Paging Todd McShay?

It was only the 89th minute today but Eric Abidal made an amazing comeback of sorts today in El Classico IV for Barcelona today. For those who don’t know, Abidal was diagnosed in March with a tumor on his liver. Shortly thereafter, he had surgery to remove it. After successful surgery, he has been working on recovery and only recently returned to action. Today, marked his return to play. Granted it was but a few minutes, but it was an emotional moment; the crowd at Camp Nou roaring their approval when he was just warming up. Following Barcelona’s 1-1 tie with rival Real Madrid, the team celebrated with Abidal. Follow the link on this tweet below.

Life intersecting with sports. Love it!!!
